Disaster Recovery as a Service - When "Out of Service" is not an Option

Mitel DRaS

DRaS is an enhancement to Convergence SIP trunking services, providing a sophisticated, high-availability platform designed to deliver an unprecedented level of survivability to Mitel solutions deployed at enterprise locations worldwide.  Most enterprises struggle with the costs and complexities of providing a full disaster recovery plan for their Mitel IP communications infrastructure.  Typically,  deployments are based around a single Mitel 3300, located in a corporate office, that are significantly lacking in resiliency.  Or, are in a geographically distributed cluster with the inbound/outbound connections using media gateways that, in most cases, have no redundancy.

DRaS is an integrated suite of cloud-based call control tools designed to allow an enterprise to define the policies and procedures by which voice traffic will be handled during any form of outage.  Convergence DRaS provides survivability, regardless of the interruption, from a temporary disruption of calls due to a local carrier, circuit or power outage, to a LAN or network failure, or a full-scale catastrophic event or natural disaster.  Based on predetermined policies, calls to a company’s main inbound numbers can be routed to alternate office locations, directed by an automated attendant or queued for processing by available personnel.  Calls to individual extensions or direct inward dial numbers can be forwarded to a user’s mobile phone or home phone, or sent to voice mail.

DRaS not only protects you against a catastrophic event, DRaS can also take over call control in a matter of seconds. DRaS can be utilized by the IT department to maintain business continuity when the IP communication system needs to be taken offline for maintenance and system upgrades .  DRaS delivers on the promise of never missing another call.

Voice T-1 and PRI Redunancy

Convergence Communications Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaS) offers PRI redundancy through SIP Trunking. If your traditional telephone circuit (T-1 PRI) goes down, you will have a secondary inbound/outbound route to keep your telephone calls coming and going, via your internet connection (Internet T-1, DSL, Cable or MPLS). The Convergence Data Center offers reliable, toll quality calling via SIP Trunking to any location in the country.  PRI Redundancy can be used with any PBX manufactuerer that is both SIP capable or T-1 Capable.
